Alternate ending: What if...(spoilers)
What if, during the rape scene, where she was tied up and squealing, they faded the screen to black and rolled the credits, thus ending the movie?
shareWhy would you want to end it there? Most of the movie would be missing. Lisbeth's revenge on her rapist is an important component of the film. The mystery (what happened to Margaret?) would be left hanging, etc. The serial killer murders would not be discovered or solved.
On the other hand, I feel the movie ends when Martin gets his just rewards and the mystery of what happened to Margaret is solved. Everything that comes after that, the expose of Wennerstrom, feels anti-climactic and tacked on. When I recently watched the film On Demand, I didn't even bother watching the end.
