I didn't really get this movie
Was the girl real? Did they really have a sexual relationship? Was it his daughter? Does he kill himself at the end?
The girl was real, but not every interaction you see between them is
They did have a sexual relationship
It was not his daughter - that scene (GREAT scene) is clearly what puts the the thought into his head about bringing the knife on stage
When he kills himself.
For real.
A 2nd watch will make this a lot clearer probably ............

It's good to see that I'm not the only one who found the plot confusing. I thought Greta Gerwig's character was the one molested by her father. There's too much jumping around, so I kept getting the characters confused. And what was all the whispering in the beginning about? Could have been filmed better.
