The Ambiguously Gay Duo saves humanity and the world?

Mediocre comedy by M. Night Shyamalan. It's safe to say he is washed up and finished. He tried to take an SNL short and turn it into a live-action movie...and failed miserably.

I haven't seen to many of his other films but this might be one of his worse. The whole premise or story is ridiculous.

Hogwash!

FYI, the movie was actually based on a book. The whole premise sounds ridiculous, but I went to see the film just to see how it was going to play out, and also because Dave Bautista was in it---this is only the second horror film he's done, and him being the main antagonist made it a little more interesting to watch---especially since he's not your typical villain in this one.

And there's nothing "ambigious" about this couple---they're straight-up gay, period. It's alluded to throughout the film some of the hassles they have to deal with just existing in a gay couple in today's world. If you're seen the film, you know what I'm talking about.

Did the book at least explain their "pure love" connection to the end of the apocalypse? How is the couple/trio connected to the ending of natural disasters at all?

reply

The film isn't a comedy, it's a horror film. Also M. Night has made a major comeback in the past couple of years--with a number of hit films---SPLIT AND GLASS, OLD kinda came and went, but his TV horror series SERVANT (which Rupert Grint, who's in KNOCK ON THE CABIN, is also starring in) just started its 3rd and last season. He's as far from "washed-up" as you can get.

reply

I don't think you know what the word ambiguous means.

This kind of hetero is somehow threatened by anyone being anything but straight because they doubt their own sexuality.

In my country we have a saying (loosely translated) "Everyone is scratching where they have an itch".

reply

Then go scratch.

reply

I don't have an itch. I am referring to the very people you're talking about.
