Great Entertainment

Wasn't expecting much more than another Lethal Weapon (you know wisecracking etc), but, wow, what a great movie entertainment-wise. I mean, its not a thinking man's movie, just a straight ahead action, fun, keep you entertained movie.

Have I said its entertaining?

For specifics--clean, stripped of waste dialog; sharp, intelligent direction; well developed rich characters, outstanding acting in every scene, superb, gripping cinematography; and a plot that doesn't sink of its own weight.

Small things I liked--1. the kid was not obnoxious 2. yes there was a woman in the movie, but low keyed, 3. each set-up for the next bit of action (foreshadowing)didn't hit you upside the head to get you to pay attention; 4. the movie didn't manipulate the audience and wrench every bit of "aw shucks" out of it that it could, and finally, 5. there was no excessive up close and personal face shots.

I can hear the director -- Just shoot the damn movie and lets go home.

9 stars baby, 9 stars (not ten because the final scene was a little weak)
