American audiences are so stupid -- Get the Gringo is a classic.
The 1990s were the last of America's greatness.

I dunno about a classic, but it was much more entertaining than I was expecting. STV and VOD films are almost better these days than what's going to theaters. But what do I know, i'm one of the few that also enjoyed Mel's last theatrical work as well (Edge of Darkness)...
"dude i dont care i just love this movie you guys have a realy taste in movies what wrong with you"
How are American audiences stupid again? I see this post a lot. I love how quick people are to post the Americans are blah blah blah. I dont think audiences in America were given the choice to see this in theaters, otherwise they probably would have.
shareYeah, confirmation, according to boxofficemojo they have no information on the movie leading me to believe America never got to see it in the theater and I would have. I am a fan of Mel's. I had seen the trailer and thought it looked perfect so the first chance I got I bought it on bluray. I thought it was a great movie.

Yeah,...that part where he jumps up in the air and grabs the grenade like Michael Jordan, then tosses it at the man with a gun like he's Chipper Jones throwing an out at 1st base,...then explodes the guys head...yeah,...great scene,..right up there with a Nick Cage flick.
That being said,...I actually liked it much more than I thought I would,...I give it a 6.5,...but there's a couple scenes that were just ridiculous. Definitely not a classic.
You're not a writer Fink, you're a goddamn write off
Not a classic, but still a damn good film.If all of that crap with Mel's personal life hadn't have happened, this would have easily been in the top 5 films at the box office.

I thought it was simply an alright film. There wasn't anything too impressive in it and there were a couple ridiculous parts.
