There's hardly any realism and it's cheesy as hell, but it's cleverly written and staged with wit. Mel Gibson is very charismatic and funny, here. I generally find it hard to turn off my brain while watching a movie but this one is so charming I bought into every moment of it. 8/10 from me. Highly recommended!

I agree. I don't think I was that entertained by a Gibson movie since Lethal Weapon, it's very well written.
Although I still maintain Bruce Campbell would've been a better choice. Gibson didn't bring much to it actingwise, but yes, it's a good vehicle for him.
