Did Kaufmann really believe he was talking to Eastwood?


The call was so obviously fake that there was no way a man with the power Kaufmann seemed to have would have accepted it. However his secretary seemed totally fooled when the Driver shows up. Frank and his men seemed merely intrigued, as if they expected something profitable but never that the call was genuine. Considering Kaufmann was able to have people killed it seemed like he should've have smelled something.
