Bluebird as in the name of the bus???

and the bird that distracts the driver? A little overt.

I read an article on the IMDb news page that said the Bluebird is an actual bird that the busdriver looked at.

We're gonna need a bigger boat.

I made it 45 minutes before I started banging my head against the wall from this dismal, depressing, painfully boring movie, so I can't answer to this.

I loved this movie, but then, I love this type of movie. It was very real, due to the fact that nothing was resolved, which is often and unfortunately true in real life. One must accept the things that have taken place, and try to move forward. There is some hope there, if you look for it. The child shows signs of improvement. His mother shows signs that she is beginning to understand that she has a responsibility here. The bus driver's husband never fails in his support of his wife, a truly tragic figure. And their daughter begins to see that to improve her lot, she must leave. I credit the lack of talk to the taciturn nature of the people of Maine -- I have heard of this and read of it, but I have never experienced it myself.

The most absolutely heart-moving moment of the movie for me was when the credits began to roll, and we heard the original, perfect, subdued harmonies of The Fleetwoods "Tragedy". That was the perfect song, so soft and so beautifully sung, underscoring what we had seen with an unfailing eye. Why, when there is music like that, can people listen to what they call music today? The Fleetwoods, a tiny footnote in popular music during the '60s - probably long forgotten by most, but to someone involved in the making of this movie, remembered, and placed in a perfect spot.
