Why do they hate Canada?

I keep seeing these "monster" movie of the week shows cropping up and always always made in Canada. I mean reallly why cant we get the good ones up here...seriously does hollywood hate us so much all they can do is throw the Ed Wood rejects up here..and Mr. William B Davis..shame on you! Enough already, these shows are terrible, they wouldnt interest a 10 year old. At least throw some imagination into them, these are obviously written by a hack and the actors should be ashamed they are so desperate for work they will even appear in these things...bad bad bad! The argument that they had a limited budget.......there are enough talented web and independent artists who could make a excellent and good "B" grade monster movie that Im sure Syfy could make a killing...This is lazy and untalented crap put together for advertising dollars and it should stop!

Only a moron would think that spending money in Canada to produce equates with hating Canada. Duh!

Production costs are alledgedly way lower in Canada.
It also may have the scenery which the producers were looking for.
The qualifications of the workers and the technology actually required to film this movie are supposed to be of the same leven in Canada and the USA.

Because its full of Canadians!!;-)AAAHHAAHAAHAAHAAHHHAAAA

I think the original poster's point was, that these cheap, hokey movies make Canada look bad. I'm Canadian and I don't mind that they're made here at all. Even cheap B movies help the local economy and if anything it's kind of fun spotting places I know in the movies even though the movies themselves aren't great. Of course we would all love to see every movie be a big-budget academy-award winner but the fact is that the overwhelming majority of movies aren't like that because not every movie has a budget that can afford Will Smith and Steven Spielberg. Were it not for the lower production costs of movie-making in Canada, i'm sure a lot of these productions wouldn't get made at all either and they provide work for a lot of people so I actually hope they keep making them here.

This one just for 'imturk.'

"In a train car there were a Canadian, an American, a spectacular looking blonde and a frightfully awful looking fat lady. After several minutes of the trip the train happens to pass through a dark tunnel, and the unmistakable sound of a slap is heard. When they leave the tunnel, the American had a big red slap mark on his cheek.

The blonde thought - "That American son of a bItch wanted to touch me and by mistake, he must have put his hand on the fat lady, who in turn must have slapped his face"

The fat lady thought - "This dirty old American laid his hands on the blonde and she smacked him".

The American thought - "That fecking Canadian put his hand on that blonde and by mistake she slapped me".

The Canadian thought - "I hope there's another tunnel soon so I can smack that stupid American again"."

Canada is much cheaper to film in, therefore movies with lower budget is likely going to use it as a filming location, while bi budgeto nes dont care about location cost that much and thus film back home.

i love it where they have locations that call for a desert or Middle Eastern terrain……problem solved….go to the local rock quarry and keep low camera angles!…Most SYFY movies and many TV shows are shot in and around Vancouver BC

lol….even the "Pro USA Patriotic" Rambo:First Blood was shot in Hope, BC disguised with KVOS 12 TV trucks from Bellingham WA, on the set some 200 miles away

and Sylvester Stalone aka Rambo/Rocky?----he ran off to hide in Sweden during the Vietnam war making porn movies

came back and became a Big screen Patriot/Soldier!!!
