16 and Pregnant - Valerie from season 2 died!!

Sorry I do not know how to add the article.

She died yesterday at a friends house, she may have OD'd.

I remember her episode because her parents seemed very nice and they had no way of dealing with an out of control teen.

A few years ago she was arrested for prostitution and before that she was in the news because she pushed her mom - she fell and broke a vertebrae.

It is very sad for the family - this poor little 7 year old girl lost her mom a few days before Christmas.

It's just sad all the way around.

It's absolutely awful this has happened. She was my favorite from 16 and pregnant because she had such a great personality. I'm surprised she wasn't chosen to be on Teen Mom.

Her parents were very liberal and lax from what I saw on the show. They just seemed like they accepted that she was pregnant and they would care for the little girl because they have had so many foster kids.

I hope Valerie's daughter Nevaea is taken well care of by someone. How tragic she died so close to Christmas for the little girl. :(

23.. Way too young to go.

I expect this *beep* from people who would stick a kid with the name Nevaeh.

ODs are the most common "death by injury" in the US. Even more so than car accidents. It can happen in the best of families. I personally know several _extremely_ well off families that this has happened to. Valerie doesn't even fit the demographic of the typical
Person that ODs, they tend to be white males though obviously all demographics are effected.

OMG. Farrah's response to Valerie's death on Instagram is ridiculous.i wish Farrah would ask someone to proofread what she writes. She really has a poor grasp of the English language.

For her to say that she understands what Valerie went through is a joke. Farrah had both parents. Poor Valerie was adopted. It's not the same!

That poor kid. I think it's a little selfish to be so reckless when you have kids. Valerie died in a way that could have easily been prevented. I mean a drug overdose when you didn't even have to be doing drugs in the first place. So sad. And it's not like the little girl is a baby either. She's 7. She will remember and will prob be damaged from this Sh!t for the rest of her life. My heart goes out to her. RIP Valerie.

It is so sad and I feel bad for her daughter Navaeh, and her adopted parents. She really spiraled downhill after the show.

I think her life was one of those that was going to be tragic from the start. Birth parents gave her up for adoption, pregnancy at 16, alleged drug use, prostitution arrest, dies from a possible overdose at 23.

Anyone think that if she had gotten on TM her life would have been different?

Of course one is responsible for their own life choices but I can?t help but think that she had been on TM she would have been able to go to a nice and good rehab Iike the rest of the girls.

And maybe she wouldnt have had a prostitution arrest if she had gotten 100.000 dollars per season and be able to sit on her ass/in bed all day.

I don?t know.. She could have used MTV?s money for drugs but I do wonder if her life had turned out different if she had been of the featured girls on TM & TM2.

I wonder that too. Drug overdose is extremely common now, it's the number one cause of "death by injury", even more so than car accidents. I could have seen many Teen Momers like Jenelle or Amber if they didn't have the steady cash from the show. I was rooting for her. I think she was the prettiest girl MTV has had on this wretched show and for her to be a street walker was just terrible 😟

RIP Valerie. 23 is way too young. And her family having to deal with her passing at Christmas.

I think had she have been on one of the Teen Moms, she would still be around today. The show would have made her more accountable, and provided her with more opportunities, could have gone either way, but with the show there would have been a lot more eyes on her.
