I agree. It's one of my absolute favorite movies now. I've never seen either of them in anything before, but they were both incredible. Benoît Poelvoorde made me nervous just watching him, he was wonderful.
shareJust watched it last night and I loved it! It was adorable and very funny!
Everybody in this house needs to calm down and eat some fruit or something.
Bravo! Beautifully written (I nearly said composed because this is like a piece of music) Stunningly acted by everyone, faultlessly directed... we've all been there... Instant French Classic
shareAgreed! Just watched this and loved it.
However, during the watching, a horrible thought occurred to me; Can you imagine what this would be like if they remade it in Hollywood? Arrrrgh...
The cure for boredom is curiosity. Unfortunately, there is no cure for curiosity.
If Hollywood remade this it would be a disaster. A big part of why this film worked so well is that it addressed a real affliction that many people suffer from and keep the tone of the film light without glossing over the issues involved.
I don't think this would have been possible without the directors own intimate understanding of the subject.
I'm staggered this film only has 6.8 rating as it's close to perfect in my book. Very well shot, well written and brilliantly acted. A real gem.
Much recommended to those who like romantic comedies and who don't mind subtitles.
BB ;-)
it's just in my opinion - imo -
Just finished watching it - and absolutely loved it. Great balance between sentiment and humour, skillfully yet understatedly directed, and Carré and Poelvoorde are gorgeous, funny and heartbreaking at the same time.
Could any hell be more horrible than now and real?

Agreed. Two most likeable characters ever.
I audibly 'awww'd' on at least two occasions during the movie and that's very much not like me. Insanely cute film.
