Are Your Actions, Words & Emotions Healing or Killing You & Me?!?!

The Power of Our Compassionate Acts & Words

Wayne Dyer, Ph.D., who has given several seminars on PBS TV stations, wrote in his book The Power of Intention, copyright 2004, on page 25, “Choosing to be kind is a choice to have the power of intention active in your life.
“The...[compassionate life enhancing] effect of kindness on...[our] immune system[s] and on the increased production of serotonin in...[our brains] has been proven in research studies. Serotonin is a naturally occurring substance in...[our bodies] that...[can help make] us feel more comfortable, peaceful, and even blissful. In fact, the role of most antidepressants is to stimulate the production of serotonin chemically, helping to...[reduce our feeling depressed]. Research has shown that a simple act of kindness directed toward another improves the functioning of...[our] immune system[s] and stimulates the production of serotonin in both the recipient of the kindness and the person extending the kindness. Even more amazing is that persons observing the act of kindness have similar beneficial results. Imagine that! Kindness extended, received or observed, beneficially impacts the physical health and feelings of everyone involved! Both the face of kindness and the face of creativity are smiling here.”

So, in other words, when we are aware of an act that we believe is intended to compassionately enhance life -- something that we are seeing, saying, hearing, reading, writing, doing or even when we are smiling or laughing compassionately -- we are causing our bodies immune systems to become stronger at healing our physical bodies, helping to give us all healthier, happier, longer lives and, at the same time, we are also causing more of that wonderful serotonin to be released into our brains which helps us to “feel more comfortable, peaceful, and even blissful.” At http://www.youtube.com/user/baynvc#p/u - you will see people compassionately communicating with friends, lovers, parents, children, bosses, government, etc, etc, etc!

Are Your Emotions & Diet Healing or Killing Your Body?

Can you recall when you became so distraught, uptight or scared that you had trouble functioning? For instance have you: Had trouble sleeping?, Remembering what you read while taking a test?, Understanding what you are reading or seeing?, Been in a situation where you thought there was a high probability that in the next few minutes someone was going to violently attack and hurt or kill your body?

Our emotions are so powerful that, depending upon whether our emotions are healing, destructive or deadly to our physical bodies (if we are dwelling upon those emotions), our physical bodies will be either healthier or experience more physical diseases. Also, our emotions help to determine whether our physical bodies will live longer, healthier and happier or die when they are much younger!

FREE: At http://groups.yahoo.com/group/healyourself1, in the “Files” section, you can see a partial listing of the needs (aka, compassionate desires) that we all have and the healing and destructive emotions that we all may experience.

You can discover a lot more about empathy and compassionate communication at www.cnvc.org, http://nvctraining.com, www.youtube.com, by using the search word: “nonviolent communication.”

I remember hearing of people who became so scared that they had a heart attack and died! In other words, through the power of our emotions, we are either helping to kill or heal our bodies?

The best advice I can give for those who want to experience healthier, happier, longer, physical lives is to strive to follow the Four Keys, from John Robbins book, Healthy at 100 (copyright: 2006):
1. (In the order of its nutritional importance to humans): Consume plenty of mostly raw, whole, unprocessed, organically-grown, vegetables and fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds and grains and maybe a very, very small amount of those foods derived from the bodies, fluids and secretions of non-human animals. At http://vegtv.com, you can see TV celebs, movie stars and entertainers, that are happy about their diet!
2. Flex, strength build, tone and stretch your body for a minimum of 1 hour everyday!
3. Believe that you are compassionately enhancing life through your daily words and/or actions!
4. Strive to always listen empathetically, speak and act compassionately with our families, friends and all those with whom we meet or communicate with each day, including ourselves!
