'Judges' Choice'?

We are supposed to believe that the three finalists are given a random song from the judges and then the group returns from backstage to perform it fully scored and choreographed?? That is implausible on Glee, let alone what is supposed to be an actual live competition.

I don't know if this one-night show was completely live. Did they say so? Did any of the judges change clothes. I think they had been each given random songs ahead of time and then they just sang them when told to.

I don't think that's how they were trying to present it.

Each group comes in with a song they chose, possibly have performed before, and believes best showcases their group's style.

The judges also pick a song for each of the 6 groups that they have to figure out how to arrange and choreograph if they are chosen to move on to round 2. Maybe they're given a week, maybe they're given a day or two, but I don't think we were supposed to believe they developed their second performances in about 20 minutes.

They should've explained that better--It's like they were trying to hide from us what really went on, and they expected us to be stupid enough to believe that the whole thing was all taped in one night.

And not once did Nick Lachey say that the entire season was all going to be done in one show. He just kept saying that this was a "special presentation". What a load of crap!

And why do they always give so much power to the stupid judges? Why not let the audience decide who moves on to the final-round and/or let the audience decide the final winner? It's like they think that the 3-judges are the only ones capable of having credible opinions on a capella.

And why not just let each group perform two of their own songs? Are these judges so brilliant that they know EXACTLY what songs best fit each group after only hearing ONE song from each group? It's like the point of the whole show is to brain-wash us into believing how wonderful the judges are, and we're supposed to believe every word they say. Sorry, but it sure didn't work on me.

My advice is to eliminate the pointless judges altogether.

It may have been taped in one night, but they just had a limited amount of time to develop the judge's choice song before taping the show compared to weeks, months, or even years they could have been working on their first song.

He said it was a one night thing multiple times. At the beginning of the show he said it was 1 night, 6 groups perform, 3 move on to round 2, and the winner gets $50,000 at the end of the night.

And why not just let each group perform two of their own songs? Are these judges so brilliant that they know EXACTLY what songs best fit each group after only hearing ONE song from each group?

There may have been auditions, or they were asked to submit multiple songs before they were chosen to be on the show. In the second performance from The Exchange, Shawn said something about how the one guy did something different than he usually does. Considering that we were only shown 90 seconds of one song by them, it'd be impossible to determine what any of them usually do. So Shawn must have seen more of them and what that guy did really was different from his role in every other performance they've done.
