Inside the Titanic...at least there was the laughter...

Curiosity: Inside the Titanic aired in Canada last night, and I watched the first hour...and wow. It was actually hilariously bad. Titanic II was a better movie.

Here are some of the things I saw from Inside the Titanic:

1. The Titanic's corridors are long, creepy and empty. The ship also apparently only has about a dozen passengers.

2. Captain Smith and Bruce Ismay take turns channeling Darth Vader.

3. The "cold, hostile water" is in the process of "taking control of the ship." It also likes to "sneak on board."

4. Crewmen deny striking an iceberg while the passengers asking are standing on the deck right beside chunks of broken iceberg ice.

5. Somewhere deep in the bowels of the ship, some poor, trapped stoker is recreating Saw with his ankle crushed under a waterproof door and a conveniently placed axe.

6. As the narrator tells us that the silence of the engines is the first sign of trouble that the passengers notice, the camera faithfully shows us somebody failing to wake up or notice it.

7. Jack Thayer's mother is apparently made out of light.

8. The first sign that the ship is taking on water is very well coordinated slapstick involving a face and a box.

I'd call this a low for the series, except for the fact that my fiancee and I were laughing too hard...

What's even worse is this is an abrideged version of the Titanic miniseries which aired a few weeks ago.

That sounds hilarious. I didn't actually watch this one though. I will be careful of water sneaking around in the future though. It is sneaky stuff indeed.

I disagree 1000%

It wasn't a perfect adaptation for sure, but it did give me a few tidbits of info that I never knew about the titanic. It seems you and your fiancee you need to lay off the drugs please for your own good.

"1. The Titanic's corridors are long, creepy and empty. The ship also apparently only has about a dozen passengers. "

This is a TV show not a movie if you and your fiance lack imaginations and require the EXACT replica of the titanic to watch the dramatization i pitty your lack of brain power.

"2. Captain Smith and Bruce Ismay take turns channeling Darth Vader."

This makes ZERO sense, either you and your fiance smoked/injected something before watching this or else you are both delusional.

"3. The "cold, hostile water" is in the process of "taking control of the ship." It also likes to "sneak on board.""

I'm not sure what your trying to get at, the water was cold and would kill you in minutes, which would be considered cold and hostile. Again I'm confused on how you and your fiancee lack brain power.

"4. Crewmen deny striking an iceberg while the passengers asking are standing on the deck right beside chunks of broken iceberg ice."

Who knows this could be true, or false... either way who cares, was it cheesy sure but does that 1 line affect the end story? Nope, not 1 bit.

"5. Somewhere deep in the bowels of the ship, some poor, trapped stoker is recreating Saw with his ankle crushed under a waterproof door and a conveniently placed axe. "

I believe this was shown because they said that the water tight doors dropped 1.5 feet to make sure they were water tight... It was just showing the power the doors, but I guess you and your fiance were to busy packing the pipe.

"6. As the narrator tells us that the silence of the engines is the first sign of trouble that the passengers notice, the camera faithfully shows us somebody failing to wake up or notice it."

Yup it happened at night when most the passengers were sleeping, that's such a mind blowing experience that at night when people are tired, some might not wake up, when the engines become more quiet and stop...sigh

"7. Jack Thayer's mother is apparently made out of light. "

Wow cut down on the crack please.

"8. The first sign that the ship is taking on water is very well coordinated slapstick involving a face and a box."

I will admit the scene is not Hollywood style perfect but it was shown, to let you know that the original leak started in boiler room 5's coal bunker was completely flooded, and how it got into other areas of the ship.

Obviously some of this show was fiction, but the main points are pretty interesting. Its seems most your "problems" that you and your fiance had, is that you both require hollywood special effects or are delusional.
Most of what you wrote about makes zero sense(2,3,7).

Don't get me wrong it wasn't perfect but, it did have some new facts that were interesting, and I enjoyed learning a bit more about the tragic events that happened that terrible night.

Why do you make no less than FOUR references to drug use? You obviously have some kind of problem with drugs. I'm not saying you're using them, just that you have a very unhealthy view on drugs. You should look into that before it causes you further distress.

It wasn't perfect, but I think you're too hard on it. While it wasn't "A Night To Remember", or even the Stanwyck version of "Titanic", I think the restrained narration and state-of-the-art graphics made it very watchable. I watched it twice tonight, and enjoyed it.
