This is real sci-fi.

The aliens were extremely original, the visuals were fantastic, the acting solid, the plot original.

People are whining because the ending isn't all that pretty. But that's not a reason to poorly rate the entire movie; for you people, there's always Independence Day....or cookie cutter movies that make you fat Americans happy.

Not very original, but 'We accept the love we think we deserve.' Brilliant.

I agree completely, aside from the acting, which was pretty average overall (still, Oscar-worthy material compared to Cloverfield).
The other aspects were all excellent though. A terrifying, tense, fresh film with amazing visuals and fantastic CGI: indeed, this is real sci-fi. Easily one of the best alien movies I've seen so far.
The ending was left open because a sequel was planned, but apparently that is too difficult to understand for the many hopeless retards who simply enjoy bitching on these boards.

🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾

Absolutely. People give this a poor rating becauze it isnt popcorn and fluff like most hollywood movies with a happy ending.

Aside from jaw dropping visuals and interesting alien designs this movie also had what felt like a realistic portayal of what an alien attack would look like. Nearly complete annihilation of the humans.

This movie was intense, it looked amazaing and I think thevacting was just fine. Had this movie had a big name actor the poster for this movie would have just been a big picture of the big name actor and the budget for the film would have doubled just to pay one big name actor.

Im glad the cast was just like it was. Cant wait for the sequel.

No, people gave it a poor rating because it's poorly made.

The aliens were original? I couldn't help being reminded of Mass Effect's Reapers the whole time I was watching this movie.

Original plot? Right, War of the Worlds has nothing on this movie.

Fantastic visuals? The FX were dirt cheap. Didn't I read back in the day that the makers of the film were in a ton of legal trouble because they were actually working on another film set and "borrowed" equipment and resources to make this film on their own time. When the studio found out about their little "project", they were fired on the spot.

It's a piece of trash but thanks so much for insulting Americans. That must make you feel so much more superior now, right? Enough to go punch someone or pretend you've still got a brain these aliens haven't sucked out yet. Mom must be rpoud.

Yeah. It looks low budget some of the time and I think that's why some of the performances are a bit erratic. But I liked the film and the ending - and it's nice to see a bit of science fiction that doesn't revolve around super heroes.

The airplane fight scene where they launch the nuclear missed was incredible. I wish there were more moments like that. I don't think this was a bad movie, just confusing at the end. But like this thread started, I do think it's more realistic in that humans would probably lose and get wiped out. Overall an enjoyable viewing experience for me, but I can see where some people didn't like it. I'm glad it tried something different, even if some people didn't think it was explained well.
