They need to make a path to the stage
I know they like having this cozy "tables everywhere" set up for the Golden Globes, but half the speech time is taken up by the winner trying to find a path to the stage! They need a path that is clear.

Yes, it is taking too long to get people up there. Especially for the 'less important people' that they seat all the way in back.
shareI felt kind of bad for the other kids from "Glee" when they were trying to make it up to the stage. Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Jane Lynch had seats in the front section because they each had an individual nomination, but when the show won the rest of them were trying to hustle up there before they got played off.
"Me? Never wanted kids. Don't have the time, don't have the uterus."
I agree. They run these things on a tight schedule and most of that time is wasted watching people weave through tables.
I can't remember what awards show it was on, but there was a walkway right down the center like a theatre. They had no problems getting to the stage.
