Dreadful pathetic crap

I haven't seen anything more horrible than this "movie". Schoolchildren in an elementary school would have written a better script. The actor, especially the one who plays captain of the baddies was probably taken from under a bridge and has some kind of speech impediment. His lines were absolute drivel on top of zero acting ability. This whole movie has no logic or sense in anything they do or say.
I can't imagine how this crap ever got released for viewing.

Either you must not have seen many movies in your life, or your spoonfed opinions simply aren't worth a damn. I bet a good movie to you consists of laughable, over the top acting and lots of action and explosions.
I've seen movies, with budgets of over tens of millions, that couldn't hold a candle to this low budget flick.
If anything, this is probably one of the more compelling Sci-Fi movies I've seen in quite a while.. and unlike most hollywood fluff nowadays, this movie actually provided a solid and "believable" experience. Refreshing!
I'd personally recommend this movie to any serious Sci-Fi buffs.

No, you're not wrong, you're just an a$$hole!

Was this a joke? If it wasn't I pity you.Apparently you can't distinguish between dreadful script and acting and a decent one.
I do not care about explosions, moron. Did you pay attention to what I wrote?

reply

No joke.
You wouldn't recognize good acting, nor a good film if it spat you in the face.

No, you're not wrong, you're just an a$$hole!

reply

LOL! If you consider the school-like amateurish acting of the main characters good, what can I say? And if you think the script and the lines they say are good, your intelligence is pretty low then.

reply

It's your prerogative to find the acting bad and amateurish, even if it's not. However, saying that the movie lacked logic and sense is factually untrue. It couldn't have been more clear and logical. Therefore, if you didn't understand it, the problem must lie with you and your "vast intelligence", not the film.
Also, saying that the Captain (Sean Patrick Flanery) has a speech impediment, while at the same time claiming he has zero acting ability, really shows how little you know.

The only Elementary school children I see here, are the ones hating on this movie because they simply lack life experience, knowledge and an appreciation of unconventional formulas.

reply

Well, yea, you got one thing right. I really lack appreciation of conventional nonsense the Sci-Fi industry produces these days in spades. As for the logic in this movie, certainly one can find some logic even in scenes acted by people with down syndrome. I was talking about many details (attitudes, emotions lines they said) making little sense and sounding horrifically stilted, unnatural, and even absurd.
As for Flanery's acting in particular, I don't really know him, but I guess he couldn't do any better given that mess of a script.
BTW, I did like many Sci-Fi movies and shows starting from Star Trek and ending by BattleStar. Those could also be criticized for various issues, but they can't be criticized for being amateurish -- like Scavengers.

I love good sarcasm.

I agree with Rattaplan.

Yes the script had some obvious faults. The captain of the Baddies was horrible. I totally agree with that. But the other actors were actually good compared to some tv-movie actors you see on channels like SyFy these days.

But yes, the movie was very logical, it was just the script that had some errors.

But... there was not ONE moment in this movie that I was bored or annoyed (except that voice). It was a very nice entertaining movie.

As the other poster (Rattaplan) said, this sure is a good movie compared to some other (bigger budget) movies.

I have seen thousands of movies, so by experience alone I can tell you indeed what is good or bad. And this movie sure was not bad. It was pretty good actually, besides a few obvious mistakes.

You said:

... then indeed you sure have not seen many movies.

Sorry, but even if you've seen a million movies, you 'indeed' can only tell what you think is good or bad; you're not the final arbiter of quality, no matter how dogmatic you are. Your opinion is just that; a subjective opinion.

I don't know about you personally Chuck, but I have a hard time believing that you have not seen anything worse than this. You must have not seen as many movies as myself. Which I admit I do watch entirely too much TV and film. This movie is not bad at all considering some of the turds I have seen. Have you ever seen 'Transmporphers' and its sequel, 'The Off Season', or just about any movie made in Bollywood? Those are really bad. I actually thought some of the camera work in this film was okay. The scene with the one woman in the bar with almost a dozen guns pointed at her, where she somehow managed to kill them all with her bare hands was laughable and one of the more "give me a break" moments in the film. Her scene in the shower made up for that one though. When she was alone, not when she decided to make out with a glass wall. lol

Movies are more then just CGI bling and acting. First off all it tells a story. yea CGI in this one is laughable compared to the "big" stuff, acting is horrible, but story wise? It blows all those "big" CGI crap movies you believe to be better right out of the sky. All it takes is to see past the cheapness of it all and watch the movie like a movie should be watched, as a story been told, not sit there in awe of pretty colors flashing on the screen with no story at all, stupid morals shoving down the throat, ridiculous attempts of being humorous, copypasting old stuff just squeeze a few bucks more out of the old success and what not.
Because thats basically all that those "big" movies are nowadays.
Not saying this one hell of an awesome movie, it isnt, the cheapness of the thing is killing it and it deserves it 3.0 score and not a point more, but i rather watch this one again then waste more time on watching a star wars or a green lantern or whatever you can name again.
With this im at least sure im being told a story instead of staring at a screen with pretty flashing colors and nothing more.
