helicopter scene......

first off. I thought this movie was excellent, I'd put it right next to Free Willy. I honestly think the only reason this movie got so much hate was because of how the computer animation would go from Good to absolute crap an 18 year old can do. The opener was an eye sore for sure with the dolphins making rings to swim through.
To be honest if I was a reviewer I would deduct an entire star alone just because of the helicopter crash scene. It just destroyed the mood of the movie from it being so outrageously goofy and farfetched, especially for a movie trying to base itself on a true story. zooming around things and flying threw windows all with Flight of the Valkerie. Some editor must have forgot to throw that scene out and fire whomever submitted it as passable.

Actually, dolphins DO make bubble rings:

You're right about the helicopter scene - I actually fast forwarded through most of that scene; it was so horrendously done and pointless!

Goblin Cannonball: I hit something! Yes?!? No?!?

:D Haha!! Neat!

Lol yea the helicopter part didn't even fit into the movie

Pay it no mind, it's just something for the kids to laugh at.

When a loose cannon flogs a dead horse, there's the Devil to pay!

The helecopter scene was indeed far-fetched, I agree, but the storyline did kind of prep for the scene at the becinning of the movie when Sawyer was working on rebuilding that helecopter, with hopes that he could get it to fly again.

I think where the scene went wrong was when Sawyer let Hazel take control of it, knowing full-well that she was an inexperienced flyer. The scene could've worked nicely if it was implied that Hazel had been training with Sawyer on flying that helicopter and this was her first big flight there at the aquarium facility. It would've been much better for the scene to have the copter zoom and hover about the different areas of the facility and then soom back to the launching site and come in for a smooth landing. Not only would've that been more impressive but it would've also been an enhancement to the film's 3-D feature.

There are alot of scenes, as I walk about the CMA facility during my visits there, that I would like the opportunity to re-shoot and this is one of them.

I agree that scene was far fetched

I couldn't figure out whether they were trying to hint that Winter was controlling it. The way it flew around was very sophisticated, much more than either Sawyer or Hazel could have done.

I totally agree. Very ugly scene. But good family movie.

The best part was when he ran after it and tried to stop it while the propellers are whirling over 1000rpm

Most of the movie was made for older kids. This scene was for the very young and easily amused. It was the only part I hated! (but it wasn't in there for me)
