"Of course you can, what do you think I've done for the last 10 years?"


I was ready to come here and give this movie a 5, but that one scene, specifically that one line, saved the movie. Powerful stuff.

I agree that that scene was very moving. And important. That one line gave Dexter a brand new perspective on the loss of Emma, on his mother's death, and on his father as a person.

A lot of people seem to be missing how much Dexter developed as a person because of his friendship with Emma, but what makes it truly meaningful is that his development continued even after she was gone. She had such a profound effect on him, that he wanted to be a better person for her, even when she was no longer there.

But considering how important that scene and that line are, I would have preferred not to have that line posted as the title to a thread. I don't know if it really counts as a spoiler, but I prefer to err on the side of caution.
