GREAT MOVIE!

I write this in response to all the negative posts I have read here .I watched this movie yesterday and what to say..., great adptacion from even better book. Anne and Jim played their roles brilliantly , without fail , with a lot of emotions. The movie is pretty sad , their lives , their destinies , very sad . I'm pleesed with directed and photography, just like music . All in all a great emotional rolercoaster : (

I agree wholeheartedly! I don't understand all the haters... The acting was outstanding, the story very moving, great soundtrack... 8/10 definitely!

I enjoyed it immensely as well. I might not have tolerated Dex as much as I did if he hadn't been played by Jim Sturgess, on whom I happen to have a major crush. But I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't a silly, trite, love conquers all kind of movie like The Notebook. But it's a piece of art, and like all art, it's different things to different people. First of all, some people aren't even smart enough to understand that they did NOT only meet once a year, but that WE see THEM and what's going on in their lives one day a year, hence the title of the movie, ONE DAY. But different strokes for different folks. I for one really enjoyed this movie.

I'm surprised you loved this movie when you've read the book! When I first saw this movie years ago, I haven't read the book yet, and I LOVED it. But I just read the book recently, so I rewatched it, and I felt like the movie hardly does the book justice. Everything was so rushed, so many things were missing, you don't fully get the history or sensed the depth of their relationship.

I understand that it's practically impossible to fit a 400+ page novel in a 100 mins movie, though, so I think the filmmaker did the best they could within the limited time frame.

Chaos is order yet undeciphered.
