Ronald McDonald's illicit cargo spilled out when his van flipped. I saw nuclear symbols, translucent green spheres, and... guns affixed to red stars?

Is is just supposed to be a vaguely iconically charged melange that's supposed to convey, uh, illicitness? Or is there something more going on there?

The red star with a MP5 machine gun with "RAF" on it is the symbol for the German Marxist-Leninist "urban guerrilla" group Rote Armee Fraktion (Red Army Faction) which existed from 1978 to 1990.

That's right. A terrorist group with a logo.
