[SPOILERS] What's up with the whole Rambo music/feel?

Ok I enjoyed the film, gave it a 6, but what's up with the Rambo: First Blood music? It's almost exactly the same. I was laughing the whole way hearing it. And the overall movie was ripping off Rambo. Hanging from a cliff upon a river, hunting bad guys in the woods, the whole sterilizing the wound with fire. Almost it had a feel of Comando at some moments.
And what was the purpose of the first scene? It's like is from another movie. Was it just to show Eric Roberts. Anw I liked the fights and laughed the whole way with the theme and the Rambo rip off scenes. :)

The first scene was probably important for them to show how tough Austin character is(former ranger). I agree with the music thing. Had a same impression.

I laughed too when I heard the Rambo rip-off guitar. But I liked the movie!

i assumed the 1st scence was to show why he would be in montana.
like ppl in montana couldnt be as awesome as this guy.

First Blood never even entered my mind while viewing this movie.
I consider First blood to be a pretty darn good movie and didnt see any comparison to this film other than there was trees in both.

I think the first scene was primarily to show how he had got his watch which became a rather integral object during the rest of the movie.
