Do any screenwriters in India actually speak English?

With gems like this, you've got to wonder:

“Because only the Mr. The Dubey can the talk like this”

“The Mr. The Dubey.”

“you look the mantalin this the uniform!”

“Okay, the very the well the said.”

“Dude, you're the mentally the sick!”

reply

In this scene(s) the characters (Farhan, Abhay and Hrithik) were making fun of a school-teacher of theirs who used to talk like that.

reply

Yeah I got that. That doesn't make it any less idiotic.

reply

Clearly you didn't get the point of this movie if you're even asking this question.

"They shouldn't be having S-E-X around the B-A-B-I-E!"

reply

"That doesn't make it any less idiotic"

Well it was a joke. It was meant to be idiotic. I've known people who speak like this! What's the problem?

"The only morality in a cruel world is chance. Unbiased, unprejudiced, FAIR!"

Actually I think most screenwriters in India these days speak English better than Hindi. For example in this film, when a character wants to express something clearly they always say it in English - they dont seem to be able to communicate it in Hindi.

The bad English that you quote is intended and is a joke. Indians would be able to relate to the joke a lot more, due to a lot of reason. There are some nuances that cannot be explained very clearly. But believe me the way Farhan Akthar says it in the movie, I found it genuinely funnny.
