Ra.One (Below Average)

When it comes to Shahrukh Khan, people expect good acting and a new concept on each of his movies, which is by far, quite true as he is doing only one film per year almost. When it comes to Ra.One, the only positive points you take under consideration is that it introduces a new concept, creates a gateway to making more superhero genre movies in bollywood, great special effects & ofcourse, the typical hindi movie touch, the amazing music.

However, when you take up a challenge to be in par with Hollywood, audiences would expect more than just action sequences and great music. They expect a good story line, great acting performance, and so on. I always watch any movies (whether hindi or english) at a perspective of my own, which is neutral. That means, whether it would be an action packed movie from hollywood or a romatic drama from bollywood, I mostly look forward in how the director carries the film.

Ra.One disappointed me alot. Most of the scenes are incomplete. Where there is one scene going on, it suddenly switches to another and people end up being confused in regards to the same. The concept of having game characters come to life is not highlighted quite well, as you can see, that is the main concept of the movie. They should at least show that people are reacting more surprised, especially for the fact that it's new technology they are dealing with, but once again, if the audience choose not to indulge into that much detail, then it's fine with them.

All the above points can easily be ignored if only, they would have done some justice with the G.One character. No such special power has been focused on him. He is a super hero for pete's sake and in every superhero genre movie, they equally focus on his powers. but instead, the film makers decide to make Ra/G.One throw balls of electricity and run at high speed.

Overall, i would find this movie and normal popcorn flick where in if you're bored you can just simply RENT out the DVD and watch it. And that too while skipping all the unnecessary, time filling, scenes.
