Hatred to Ra.One totally unjustified...

i think there is this much hate because---

after watching tons of hollywood superheroes,most INDIANS were ashamed of whatever their country could come up with...they didnt mind Krish because it was kiddish and its visual effects came NOWHERE near Hollywood standards...so no comparisons could be drawn between krish and hollywood...

but when Ra.one came,what a big buzz it created...This movie was able to bring a superhero with a decent origin concept and its visuals were of the quality of Hollywood movies..But the average Indian movie goer was dissappointed...

Our people are very narrow minded..."If u are gonna use hollywood visuals,u better satisfy us with a story as good as Ironman or Batman..."

seeing hollywood superheroes,they wanted India's first proper superhero to rival the hollywood biggies..with Big expectations comes great dissappointments...
people expected Ironman but instead got Ra.One...

being of the same genre ,Ra.One was bound to draw comparisons...and that too most made those comparisons even before the movie released...So if u actually did watch the movie,Ra.Ones HART had no functions similar to Ironmans Heart...If G.One jumped he copied Spiderman,if Ra.one can shapeshift ,they ripped terminator...if G.one carried a girl in his arms they copied batman begins..Some people say it ripped TRON,theres 0 similarities between Tron and Ra.One other than the gateway to another dimension is a videogame,,,,,, i suppose if Ra.One had laughed or made a crazy comment he would be compared to Joker as well...

Ra.One,first of all,isnt supposed to be compared with the hollywood biggies,because India's superhero genre is still in infant stage..Its visuals are just the standard hollywood visuals,theres still more improvements that can be done..its story may not be as engaging as Batman or Spiderman..so leave ur hollywood assumptions at the door and then ull enjoy Ra.One...

Compare it with the Bollywood standards...because Ra.one is a bollywood movie not hollywood..the story is 10times better than most crap movies that bollywood released this year..the sci-fic genre is still new to bollywood ,so appreciate SRK for bringing something new to the INDIAN screens other than the usual running around the trees[as most describe bolly movies to be].....

the other reason of why people hate Ra.One is simple---
SRK haters...if bodyguard could attract the mindless sallu fans to contribute to a 100cr+ collection,im pretty sure these same fans wont mind piling up hate against Ra.One...

The movie even during the promotions promised
A great visuals that are "as good as" hollywoods [as good as-not greater than],rocking music,and a new superhero and supervillain..Name an Indian movie in which a superhero is brought out of a game...[i would like to know if any hollywood movie has done that too]...

i seriously doubt if u guys[haters] are trying to act smart by showing off how many movies u can spot in Ra.one that is similar to other movies...i havnt checked,but have u made threads in taare zammeen par saying its ripped dead poets society? or 3 idiots ripped every college/school movie in hollywood? dostana is ripped from most gay comedies in hollywood? or have u just taken this new found "find the similarities" vendetta against Ra.One only.....?

console?why should anyone console them? their dad did his job....

i write all these stuff because when something new has been gift wrapped and given to the viewers ,all they can do is compare their gift with those of what others get...and these are the same people who have heaped crores on mindless salman khan movies[bodyguard,ready and dabangg]....hes practically ripping off wanted in each new movie of his [ek tha tiger looks like bodyguard now],that no one has problem with...

nothing can be done......just as corruption cant be stopped,srk haters too cant be stopped...all i can do is make sure these guys dont think their reasons for hating Ra.One are justified....

and sometimes im really confused if u r being sarcastic....

Well who says so?One good.lesson for srk to learn through all this misery is that he cant go.and stand in each of his movies with same churned out s h I t t y romantic image.That sci fi films are not cup of tea for Indian film makers.
Hopefully he'll not make indians ashamed of themselves and won't embarrass all of his viewers by dumping his idea to make a second.version of this god awful film

srk WILL MAKE INDIAN AUDIENCES ASHAMED YEAH, SRK IS DOING A FAVOUR FOR INDIAN CINEMA AND EVERY STARTS HATING, SERIOUSLY WATS SALLU DOING FOR BOLLYWOOD, DABANG WAS OK SAVED BY GOOD ACTING AND COMEDIC MOMENTS BUT READY.

AND BODYGUARD JUST PUSHED THE LIMITS WITH ACTION, SOMEONE OVERSEAS WATCHES THAT THEY WOULD SEE WAT A JOKE BOLLYWOOD IS.

WHEN PEOPLE GO SEE RA ONE AND DON 2 THEY SEE THAT BOLLYWOOD IS GROWING AND NOT JUST MAKING GOOD DRAMAS.

by the way who is ur fav star?and if u have anything to say,pls comment on the rest too..not some random line u see in between..weather u agree or disagree...

its just that compared to endhiran it was really poor.endhiran was much much better which is an indian film.the problem with ra one is that it does not hold your attention.it gets boring in between the visual effects while endhiran was entertainig as well has got better visual effects and a unique story

true ,the story is not as engaging or better than endhiran...but it doesnt mean ra.one is worthless...its a good attempt at sci-fic superheroes...and it has improved visual effects compared to endhiran...

i suppose ppl will start commenting on how endhiran ripped all robot movies ever made in hollywood...

Eeh... Am I really the only one who really LIKED the story? Except for the first scene before the dream I wasn't bored at all... Even at the second watching I liked the story.
Maybe I'm just a blond girl, dumb as can be, who hasn't any idea of good cinema. But hey, I got best grades so there must be ppl that are even more dumb than me... I won't tell who they are ^_~

But yes, I liked the story. It was like a rollercoaster to me from laughing to crying to thrilling...

i liked the story too..but between enthiran and ra.one ,enthiran had more story and morals in it than ra.one....but i repeat in saying,that it doesnt mean ra.one's story sucks....Ra.one should have been edited more properly though...

No, you are not the only one.

Story was fresh, emotions were subtle, and graphics are best ever in bollywood. Songs and choreography are no less.

The way SRK character Shekhar sold the enormity of Ra.One coming of the game and becoming an unstoppable monster was an edge of the seat stuff.

As far as copying stuff is concerned, i don't understand how does it reduce or negatively affects how much you are engaged in the movie and enjoying it.

I felt that the climax was a bit underwhelming, but that has not affected my enjoyment of this movie.

I guess most people who are criticizing are trying to prove that their understanding of hollywood cinema is quite good.

You can call.us real movie buffs who are not fanatics of anyone but do care about a quality cinema and who dont go to any extent to defend their beloved actor giving pretty lame excuses.

I couldn't agree with you more. Finally, I seem to have found somebody who actually likes Ra.One. It seems that hating this movie has become a trend of some sort and because this movie is now hated in such a vast scale, I believe that people will now hate this movie even though they secretly like it since voicing their displeasure against this movie has become the in-thing now.

The movie did have plot-holes but almost every movie does. Most people crib about the story claiming it to be not as powerful as Iron Man or Batman or those of Hollywood superhero flicks. But what they don't realize is that these Hollywood superhero flicks get their stories from over 5 - 6 decade long running comics. Ra. One on the other hand, does not have any such vast repository of information which it can use to build a story. Everything has to be made from the ground up which is what makes it an extremely decent and great-at-times attempt.

All the while, people criticize Bollywood for their dumb movies. And when a movie arrives that actually attempts some good science-fiction, the people again criticize it and prefer the dumb movies instead. Our audience has really become unpredictable and hard to satisfy. Ra. One is certainly a decent attempt at science-fiction and the future possibilities for this movie are endless - it could very well turn itself into a franchise. I agree that Enthiran's (Robot's) story was more interesting and it was much more "witty" than Ra. One but that doesn't make this movie the disaster that the public is claiming it to be. And I certainly feel no shame in admitting that I liked Ra. One a lot !!!

well said krazzy....but unfortunately the damage is done...Ra.One is a joke to most..people who didnt even watch the movie quote the haters...
its sad that when someone as dedicated as SRK put so much effort to bring Ra.One to us and all the Indians just tear it down pointing at baseless similarities,and saying the story is bad....the way they are saying the story sucks is as if its like "RGV ki Aag"...Bodyguard which was 10 times worse than Ra.One faced almost no wrath...

if people openly support the movie,they are called dumb and idiotic for not seeing the "so-called similarities" with Hollywood biggies..

^^ As crazy is all that write up.. u surely seem to be suffering from a big dose of man love.
Maybe when your man crush will subside, u ll see that a bleating fella who hasnt given two hoots to professionalism barring 2-3 movies.. Chak de being the best of the handful.. rest all he has done has been either playing victim or the omnipresent harlequin. Basically either gather the sympathy or indulge in tomfoolery.

I am not impressed with trash offered in bodyguard or dabang either, but the bottomline:
Ra One is a Total trash movie. You wanna sit and ogle at the gfx.. keep doing it a hundred times.

I'm so annoyed by this unjustified hatred too... I wanted to say it!! ^^

There are so many mindless SRK haters out there, it seems they can't bear the fact he is the hero of a big blockbuster, so here goes the hatred...

And then they say those who liked Ra.one are just SRK fans, lol...

SRK is not my fave actors, and I liked Ra.One not because of him but because the plot agreably surprised me. It had originals turns, and for having seen almost every Marvel and other US comics adaptation as well as many many other action/fantasy movies, I can say that yes, the plot has a real originality.

The effects were surprisingly good too, I was expected less.

I also noticed that occidental viewers (like me), professional reviewers among them, generally liked the movie more than the Indian audience (because SRK haters are all Indians, I guess).

And yes, no wrath for Bodyguard... I guess haters are only hating (jealous of) what is good xD

I have seen enough of his movies, and hence i am in a very decent position to make a comment on his acting 'skills'.

RA One's major working plot was taken from a ps3 game. And the storyline is as stupid as it gets. People go to his movies and ask at the counter gimme the ticket for SRK movie. They dont even know the name of the movie, leave alone the other intricacies.

Pasting Ra One's pic on the Indian F1 car's front was clearly depicting the urgency to cash in on publicity opportunity. had they not made it into an advert gimmick, the losses would have gone even deeper. I wish they had asked for aspirin to get associated with the movie.

Well I've seen many SRK movies, among other things I wrote about films for my master's thesis and worked as a professional reviewer, so I can also say that I'm in a pretty good position to talk about cinema. SRK gave A LOT of very good performances and all journalists and professionals of the industry (cinema in general and not only Bollywood) say so too.

Maybe Ra.One took its story from a game, but what I said is that the plot is different from other superhero movies, and this remains true. In how many movies do you have the hero and superhero being different persons and the hero dying early, the family having to cope with his pseudo avatar??

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts... You can dislike Ra.One but this doesn't make the movie bad...

Although i didnt like Ra one at all but i agree that hatred towards it is not good..I appreciate dedication of SRK but he could have chosen better director to handle this project.
