INSPIRED BY TRON LEGACY?

I strongly believe that this movie is inspired by TRON Legacy. Even with so much resource at his disposal SRK has given us a second hand second grade movie... I'm disappointed as a fan of SRK.

what makes u think its inspired by tron ?????
the fact that in tron,people go inside a computer and in Ra.one 2 video game characters come out?

SRK put 150crores in this movies....can u name any other HINDI/Indian actor who put his own money to make a movie of a genre that is very rarely used in Indian cinema???

Aamir,Salman,Akshay all are doing movies of the same genre...Salman is keep on remaking "wanted" every year...Akshay is doing the same slapstick routine...Flops dont deter him,he wants to keep making slapstick Punjabi movies....Aamir is atleast original and does great work on any movie he does,but he doesnt/wont risk making a hihg budget movie like Ra.One...

SRK on the other hand is trying to do other roles than his usual romantic movies...ex:don,chakde,my name is khan ,ra.one..

i wonder what kind of fan u r?

Forget roles, even his posture in Ra.One's poster is same as Om Shanti Om's!

why didn u just say it looked like a john abraham poster ,with clothes?
if he is carrying a girl,its rip off batman..if theres a computer involved its tron...

i seriously doubt if u guys are trying to act smart by showing off how many movies u can spot in Ra.one that is similar to other movies...i havnt checked,but have u made threads in taare zammeen par saying its ripped dead poets society? or 3 idiots ripped every college/school movie in hollywood? dostana is ripped from most gay comedies in hollywood? or have u just taken this new found "find the similarities" vendetta against Ra.One only.....???

I had a feeling this would be the case when I saw the first trailer and my expectations of the movie went way down, also with the shot of the Iron Man 'HART'.

Things that made me think it was a copy of Tron [not saying that it was]:

- The basis of the plot is a video game that blurs the lines between reality and the virtual world.

- The creator of the games - Flynn and Shekhar - both create a version of themselves within the game.

- The creators of the games eventually go missing but return in the form of their digitize selves.

- The concept of God and the Devil, coinciding with a loosely based retell of Ramayan.

- In Tron:Legacy we learn about deresolution aka Derezzed. This is when virtual characters die and their bodies crumble in pixelated form... Into tiny cubes. In Ra.One, we see the opposite of this at the end of the trailer, those cubes join together to form the character. The cubes are EXACTLY the same as the ones used in Tron.

- A tiny detail but significant - When Ra.One is coming together at the end of the trailer, you hear growling in the background. The same sound effect which is played when Rinzler appears on screen in Tron.

- The suits: Blue for good and Orangey/Red for evil, same as Tron.

- The bike shown in a publicity still looked like the ones used in the first Tron movie from 1982.

Of course, the movie isn't a copy of Tron:Legacy, but I feel that Bollywood was smart enough to actually create a story line that carries on from where Tron:Legacy ended. This way, if Hollywood does decide to make a sequel to Tron:Legacy, it would look like they've copied Bollywood, as the ending focused on the characters coming out of the digital world and into the real world. We shall see how that goes.

I don't think people should be mad at Dangerously Dead for posting this topic, I was going to create it myself a few months back. It definitely has more ground than those accusing this of being a copy of Terminator, Romeo must die, Iron Man and even ROBOT. Those were absurd.

good points...........here are my thoughts to ur points..

if u have seen the movie u would know that Hart and ironmans flashlight heart have no similarity except that they are round and fit in the chest...

1-the video game world is never shown.....we only see it as anyone else would a video game on a big screen...no one enters it...only the game characters come out..thats it...
does that mean if ANY movie ever show a character coming/entering a visual media is a copy of TRON? its a good idea and it can easily be reused by any movie..

2-In tron,i dont think flynn created anyone that looked like him...when he entered the game/world he just looked like flynn,he didnt design tron to have a face like his friend either...

3-Shekhar is killed ...and g.one is a separate personality,not shekhar..

4-uh...i havnt read the ramayana..but the concept of God and Devil [or Good and Bad ] is used in most movies...

5-what are computer characters made of? pixels....

6-hmm...not too similar..

7-Blue And Red are used MANY TIMES IN MOST GAMES TO SHOW good and bad...not the new games,but im sure if u rack your brain and think of old times,ull remeber some basic colours that are used to show good and evil...

8-which bike do u mean?
there is a tron inspired,but that is shown ONLY in a dream the kid has in the beginning of the movie...the kid could be a tron fan!

Ra.One isnt a copy of any movie,u can find similarities,but which industry are u checking in?Hollywood? this is bollywood..compare it and find ripoffs in indian movies..ull find few..why? because Ra.one brought something new to Indian screens..something fresh...and how do people react? copy of T2,ironman etc...so do one thing..when u see the same "dancing around the trees" next year,dont say u want something different...

i like calling the hindi industry bollywood...[so pls dont mid that]

If you complain, that there are avatars of real people in a video game, you should compare the movie with the original TRON to begin with, coz it started right there.
And WOW! There is some one riding a motor bike! And this somebody is even a hero!
So every hero riding on a motor bike is a TRON copy?
Why do you guys always pick just ONE detail to compare Bollywood & Hollywood without looking at the whole thing. In TRON (yes, in TRON, not TRON Legacy!!!) the motor cycles were an essential part of the cyber world. In TRON Legacy the were part of a game, an essential part of the world as well.
I wonder how many heros used a motor cycle since TRON during the last 30 years. Do you all claim that they have copied TRON?
Oh, G.One was a computer made hero? Okay, that makes a difference, sure it does. And why? I dunno.
Oh, of course, just because Ra.One & G.One were PC-based it's a copy of TRON again.
Okay, than Batman & Superman are copies of each other (I don't know which one was the first one) coz both wear their underwear on top.

I must admitt that I thought of Matrix for a while, but to be honest, how many movies have copied that famous Matrix-Bullet-Trick?
And sun glasses & long leather jackets have been cool even before Matrix, I guess. My neighbour wears them, too, but he does it for twenty years now, so maybe Matrix has copied him?
