What is the setting of this film? I'm very curious. The film never says where it's located. I assume it's somewhere in America, maybe somewhere in the South but that's all I know. I know that Corinne says her zip code in one scene but I don't know if that's a real zip code or not. I remember it being something like 61244 or 91244. I don't remember exactly. Does anyone know. I know it's something then 1244. Does anyone know where this was filmed?

I recall someone in the film mentioning Buffalo so I thought it was upstate New York but getting the zip code would nail it.

Looked like the Catskills, maybe even Minewaska Quarry.

Thank you for your input. I agree, it probably is somewhere in upstate New York. But I have been there recently. I've been to rural areas in Western New York and it didn't seem too cultish. I was only there for a few days however.

The main page says that the film was shot in Kingston, NY, and some in New York City (probably interior scenes on sets).

Kingston is a Hudson River town just east of the Catskills.

It was definitely New York state and not all that far from NYC. Ellenville was mentioned and the zip codes mentioned were close to Ellenville's.

That makes sense. I went to the Finger Lakes region in Western New York which was REALLY far from NYC. Somewhere closer to NYC but still sort of rural makes more sense. Thank you. Do you have the actual zip code she gave?

This is coming so late in the game that no one probably even cares anymore but...

This is definitely Ulster County, NY. My wife and I even went to the high school that was in the film, Rondout Valley Central, and they even mentioned our school mascot, the Ganders. Swimming scene looks a lot like the area near Minnewaska. For those who aren't familiar with the location, Ulster County includes the towns of Kingston, Ellenville, and Woodstock. It borders the Hudson River (East border) and is just West of Dutchess County. NYC is roughly 60 miles to the South.

Actually, I care "nikark." Thank you so much for this insight! So it turns out it is actually Ulster County, a little bit further from the Finger Lakes region. Now I know. Thanks.
