What was happening at the end, I mean first that Doctor seemed good by saving those 2 guys, but he took that injection and soon he got back into his car, he got all creepy. What was that all about?

I guess he wanted to continue somewhere else, as probably the lab we have seen was not the only one. He as anyway addicted in the medicament.
