Feels like Bye Bye Boo Boo was more of a missed opportunity.......

........To address something dark and realistic that happens in real life every once in a while. It was a non episode all the way round.
When I first saw the title saying "Bye Bye Boo Boo" at first I thought the character was going to be killed off---overdose obviously. Plus the delay they had before airing the episode I thought was going to be clear it would seriously dark and a very special episode---possibly two parter and also a clear cut reason to include Mort the mortician, but I digress.

Don't pretend that Bob's burgers isn't the kind of show that shies away from death and tries to make it out like it never happens. "Bye Bye Boo Boo" seems to have been a missed opportunity to address that. Didn't care about the girls getting upset about Boo leaving Boys For Now and then wanting to puke on him in a rollercoaster ride, Robin the new guy didn't do anything for me, and so I kind of tuned out the whole "A" plot and that didn't interest me, I don't care about bands and their outside the concert fights and rubbish, I just like music, listen to their music and don't get bogged down by the drama.

And now for the so-called "B" plot Bob Belcher---don't get me started! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME! Voluntarily letting Jimmy Pesto win for something that was rightfully yours, oh my god, no. Bob, having pride is one thing, but there is no excuse to "Let him have this" This was worse than family fracas, because Bob had his chance to take down Jimmy, but blew it, because Jimmy dreams of mafia fantasies and a full Italian Godfather because he watched Johnny Dangerously one too many times. Meanwhile, you [Bob] learns an actual mob hit happened right in his restaurant a long time ago, something Jimmy would only wish could have happened in his restaurant and since you decided not to take what is rightfully yours and put him in his place, he is now making more and more money than you and you handed him that on a silver platter.

At first it looked like they were going to make up for the "Go Nowhere Ride A Roller Coaster With Boo Boo" plot by having Bob and Jimmy go toe to toe, head to head in business restaurant like combat---battle for who had the right to the mob hit and the plaque, but instead----what a letdown. I actually wanted to see what the hit Bob and the museum curator would have looked like. I wanted to see them run in and take Jimmy down, and the result....

What does TLDR mean?

That means too long, didn't read.

Damn son you bitch a lot.

But TBH this show isn't a kids show. It isn't one where you have to talk about deep things like divorce and death and stuff. To make an episode that is "dark" would ruin it. If they made one where Tina decided to... i dunno kill herself, (yeah ok that's a little too dark I know) it would make it into a show for children. And I watch the show because it's funny. Not because it shows real, gut wrenching moments.

Ok also upon further analysis I've realized that suicide wouldn't be in a kids show.... but it's still makes sense!

Look Bobs Burgers is meant to be silly and funny, not emotional.

I might bitch a lot, but it still wasn't a good episode.
