I want to know...

...where "Cassie Nightengale" came from. I don't think it is ever said where exactly she comes from - we know that she doesn't even really have a true identity and that she almost couldn't get married because she has no identification. Wouldn't a police officer who wants to marry her get a little suspicious about that? And I am sorry - but there is no way that you can pay social security and IRS taxes without a social security number - yet that is the reason that was given for them being able to get a marriage license - that Cassie has been paying taxes and if that is good enough for the IRS, it is good enough for a marriage license. Anyway, I love the movies and I think it is really feel-good stuff. I just want to get some more hints as to where Cassie came from. Is she immortal? Is the painting of the woman in Gray House actually her? I know the mystery of it all is what keeps things interesting... but I would just like to know some answers! Maybe the next installment will open up some doors to some answers.

Who else thinks that the next installment will show Cassie having a baby? That should be interesting.

She does have an identity! Sue Ellen 'something'. Cassie said it herself to Jake. Used to be very easy to get a SS number! Just ask for it. Today? I don't know.

In the first movie we learn that Cassie's birth name was Sue Ellen Brock. Her parents were some kind of traveling performers that got killed in Europe. After that she lived in a series of foster homes until she ran away and "reinvented" herself as Cassandra Nightingale. The Grey Lady, Elizabeth Merriwick, is her great-great-grandmother.

There are also hints in the first movie she may have spent time with the Lakota people and traveled extensively.
