Ghetto Wedding?

What was with that black couple that had the DJ send people outside who did not RSVP? They even had fake flowers at the wedding reception. Lame. That was totally ghetto!

The bride also thought her wedding was the best and should have won. Well, it didn't! Stop being so stuck-up!

That was a tactless way to deal with the overflow of guests, but as a recent AA bride, I can tell you that it's hard to get our people to RSVP in a timely manner. THank God that our wedding crashers made up for the amount of people that didn't show up.
But there was no excuse for the tacky decor. I confess that we used fake flowers too but at least they look realistic and wasnt too over-the-top.

Now u know why they call me Chicago Wind, fool.

Sulalee...Perhaps "your people" don't know what RSVP means.

If you are having a sit-down dinner and only enough for the RSVP'ers then it's not fair to let the ones who didn't respond in to eat your dinner and leave you with nothing. The only thing you can do is have them wait. If it was 1 or 2 she may have been able to work them in but if it's alot, well tough, you knew what you should have done and didn't so you're out of luck because most of the time, if there is a wedding coordinator she usually calls everyone several times to get those invites in and if you don't then you don't eat.

I agree. And this is not just an African-American problem. Seventeen years ago when I got married here in the Midwest, the RSVP cards were all self-addressed (printed that way) and all of them were stamped for easy return. All you had to do was check NO if you weren't coming or put the # of people attending in the YES box. A week before the wedding I was tracking people down so we could give an accurate head count to the hall, and nearly every person who had NOT returned their RSVP card said "Oh, you didn't KNOW we were coming? We wouldn't miss it! We'll be there!" I'm like thinking "wait...what...are you really that cheap to use the stamp on the RSVP for your own personal use?" That was the only reason I could figure out. Either that, or I run in a less sophisticated crowd than I thought.😒

This is what happens when you try to have a classy wedding but you don't know any classy people to invite.
