It was the cast

I honestly think it was the cast that lead to this films downfall, this film was 100 times better then Twilight but the problem was that none of the characters had any type of depth to them and not to mention the obvious lack of chemistry between the lead roles, mind you i read both Twilight and beautiful creatures so I'm just disappointed, smh such great potential.
Oh and also the music was horrible.

The only casting I thought sucked was Lena. She wasn't pretty enough, just plain looking and her accent really sucked at times. I knew before I looked it up that she wasn't American.

This just didn't have anywhere near the same level of fandom going on as Twilight, or Hunger Games, or Divergent for that matter. Before those were movies, the books were huge bestsellers. I'm sure these books sold well, but I and most people never heard of it.

That is true.

I didnt like the main cast either, nor the acting. The only good were the effects. Thats were they put the money in.
Should have hired a better cast and storywriter though. Less money on the cgi. Much wasnt necessary.

No way I believed the lead characters were going on 16/Juniors in High School.

Aging them to 20/21 would've help relieve some of the believable factor that was lacking in their relationships/feelings toward one another.

In my opinion, the music itself is fantastic. But the two main characters don't have any chemistry at all. Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis and Emma Thompson do a good job inspite of the direction.
