I Really Wanted To Like This Movie

I really like Jeremy Irons, and Viola Davis , and I thought the guy who played Ethan ( Alden Ehrenreich) was great. But, the lead actress, Englert, ruined the movie for me. I have nothing positive to say about her performance. It was horrible. I couldn't even concentrate on the story when she was on screen. All I could think was " how did she get a lead role in a 60 million dollar movie?"

I watched the film without even knowing beforehand it is a romantic fantasy and quite liked it. Generally good casting and I thought Alice Englert is really good, though it's not like she's a well known lead. If you want to talk distracting, how about 24 year old Alden Ehrenreich trying vainly to convince audiences he is 16 or 17? it just doesn't work.🐭
