Now I'm not a book reader, truthfully I didn't know their was but as someone who hates twilight and stuff like that I liked this movie. It was different and I think really sweet movie as well as good acting. I liked the story and I think Alice Englert is beautiful. All in all I'd say it's a solid 7/10 for me and I prob would suggest for somebody to watch it.. Very surprised at this film !!! Well done ..

100% Agree. I wasn't a big fan of the music or too heavy accents but I'd definitely chose this over Twilight or those other young adult movies.
Maybe if I was a book reader I'd feel different but movies and shows (Game of Thrones for example) can't follow or even keep all of the characters, plots, etc. it's just too much sometimes.
Also the commercials for this sucked. I remember seeing them and thinking "GARBAGE" but it was a nice fantasy romantic not too chalk full of cheesiness that was implied.
I honestly like this movie too. I don't know about that accent thing since I don't live in US, so I can't say anything about that. I love the ambience in this movie, somehow it made me like want to be in that city.
shareSame here. That's the power of low expectations. I thought it would be a clone of Twilight. But it was way better than I expected. The witch mythology was reasonably intriguing. And the two leads played very well. I have not read the book, because I don't read this kind of literature. So, for me it's just a movie.
