Excellent film!!!!

"Motel Life" came out on November 8th, which happens to be my birthday. I saw it in a tiny NYC theater, which didn't even have a normal sized movie screen. There were about 6 other people in this tiny room, but everyone applauded at the films end. You don't see that happen much these days. anyway it was a nice way to spend a birthday, seeing a fine film like this! The best thing i have seen in a while..

Well ... Happy Late Birthday!

I didn't expect much out of this one ... and wasn't getting much out of it either for the first half of the film. It was decent and I didn't dislike it but as it progressed one couldn't help but to become a bit more engrossed in the story of the brothers ... and once that happens it hits you in the gut.

I believed it was quite good and think it couldn't have really been much better. The beginning was exactly how it needed to be ... I believe the uncertainty is rewarded with a payoff by film's end. If the audience doesn't give this boys a chance, who will?

The bond of brotherhood was something special here ... I haven't seen a film tackle it in such a manner. I'm the middle of three brothers so I am perhaps biased; but ... sigh. I liked this. I liked it a lot.

I'm glad to hear that you liked this film as well; it has such an undeserved low rating on this site, but maybe it's because almost nobody has seen it yet. I believe that it will pick up a cult following after a time, because it really is a strong film.

I absolutely agree, it is such a beautiful movie it is unbelivable that misersble rating, and the only cause must be that one you comment. Deserves around some nice 8 i would say.

An undisputable gem, this is.

That whole "last talk" scene was incredible (specially Mr. Dorf, who is particular awesome ik this movie).

Had to say that.

I love "slice of life" movies such as this, and gave it a 9. As to its undeservedly low rating, someone commented on another thread that after they leave the hospital, "nothing happens." ?? Renewal of a relationship, death - life! - apparently equates to "nothing" for some people, sadly.

I can't wait to see this movie in April 2013. The reviews appear to be very positive and I haven't even seen the movie yet. Nothing beats the bond of brotherhood.

I can see Dakota shining in this movie :)

Cosign, very good!

i agree, was a nice little film, nice to watch a film that just had a simple story without trying to say too much or stand out, well acted, at times sad and reminds us, people make mistakes and it doesn't always make them a bad person

I was completely disappointed in this film. It lead to nowhere. It tried to hard to have some meaning or message behind it but in reality it was just pure crap. The acting was great but the storyline was terrible. And the names in the movie were equally as bad. I guess they were trying to cater this movie to the rednecks. Now I know why imdb ratings are all full of *beep*

Considering you're about the only one here that doesn't like it I feel good saying you are crap with crap taste and wouldn't know a good film if it came up and bit you in the ass.

Forget about that kid, this movie was solid and Hirsh and Dorff were fantastic, they really felt like brothers. 7/10

Actually I know many good films azzwipe. I am entitled to my opinion just as you are but the namecalling is not called for but since you started dipsh !t let's go at it. You sound like a complete moron with your analogy since films aren't capable of buying people in the azz. Maybe the twilight geeks could help you with your azz since you have a fascination with it. Dumb punk

Don't fret: I thought this film was utter tripe myself. Good acting does NOT redeem for a lackluster plot, storyline, script, etc! And if anyone should have felt some "connection" to this film it should have been me, since I have lived in both Reno AND Elko for quite a few years... they are very small towns not featured in films often... but even after seeing the old strip here, I still didn't feel very reminiscent due to the lethargic story as a whole. Talk about a huge waste of talent!

When there is no more room on IMDB, the trolls will wheel to 4chan.
