Tears from start to finish!

I don't remember the last time that I watched a movie, and cried all the way through! I know that many will disagree with me, but I thought that "Amish Grace" was a very well made film, if only just for the script and calibur of acting. Were there things that could have been different? Yes, but the level of emotion in that film was perfect! I think that it portrayed the characters, and their different levels of greif, amazingly. Lifetime movie or not, it shed light on a topic that we often overlook; hate. There are countless movies on love, but how many on hate? It is an emotion just as powerful, but indiscriminately destructive, consuming all aspects of a person. I know that I thought on the subject greatly after watching this movie, and the hate that I carry in my own heart.

I am a Christian and we are taught to forgive but I do not know if I could have done so especially not that fast. Jesus forgave those who were crucifying even as they were doing it.
I do not think there is anything that could be more unforgivable than the killing of a child but the Amish were wonderful examples in this story.

I was really impressed. It was very good

My heart bled for them all. Especially the wife of the killer. It is HORRIFIC for the dead girls' parents, but can you also imagine what it was like for her?

I am sure (like the girls' parents) there is not a day that goes by that doesn't haunt her.

And the actress played the part VERY well. I felt her anquish

Too sad for everyone involved

What a shame
What if this is As Good As It Gets?

I agree. I was crying before it even started. I guess because the story was so close to home.

I worked with Amish folk and some of my friends are Amish, they are truly a forgiving and selfless people, always thinking of others. They have a way of making you feel better about yourself. When you are with them you find yourself talking of things that are peaceful and uplifting.

What happened to the Amish community around here is so heartbreaking, it tested their faith as well as ours, and I thank God that the girls were not tortured and didn't have to suffer more than they did.

I thought the reconciliation between Ida and Amy was very emotional. The two seemed to have irreconcilable differences at one stage. But the way the came to understand each other was the high point of the film. Especially at Charlie's funeral.
