Credit Comments

I'm not sure what to make of the commentary at the end of the credits. I don't think I've ever heard of such remarks before...still thinking.....

I liked the commentary at the end.

I think it's very apt. If imdb is to be believed, they made this for $200,000, but, as you can see on the boards, there are some people who have to come here and B&M about how bad it sucked, how they got this wrong and that wrong and that looked so fake, instead of enjoying it for what it was; a pretty good B movie. I think the makers did an excellent job with what they had to work with.

Did you read some of the Goofs? Some an*l retentive actually called them on the type of goggles one of the minor characters was using. So the message was basically, "suk it and let's see you do better".

This will be the high point of my day; it's all downhill from here.

IMDB says the budget was $3,200,000 not $200,000!

Before viewing most movies, I read through IMDb reviews, comments and goofs etc. Lately I have become quite irked with the A-R goof comments. I want to shout STFU but evade such pettiness.

The comment posted after the end credits is unique and refreshing, therefore I must applaud the author's eloquent demand to all fault-finders to STFU.

Just rented and saw this movie.

The technical inaccuracies that screamed out at me were not due to anachronistic equipment or "the wrong sized rivets on a B-17". They were simple things like incorrectly placed uniform insignia that could've been fixed by a competent military technical advisor. The "U.S." insignia when worn on an officer's shirt collar was worn on the right side and the branch insignia such as the "prop and wing" Army Air Force was on the left, and they had them reversed. And I believe that by 1943 they stopped wearing the "U.S." insignia on the shirt collar and wore the rank insignia in its place, and stopped wearing the rank insignia on the shirt epaulets.

And there were never regiments in the Air Force, even when it was part of the Army. They were always called groups. The group commander did identify himself as such, but was identified as the "Base Commander" in the credits. And one of the enlisted men made reference to "regiment".

BTW, I'm a retired Army reserve components officer who started out in the Air Force as an F-4 Phantom backseater. I would've served as technical advisor FOR FREE if I'd known this movie was being made, and would've fixed these problems.

And admittedly, these are just nitpicks that the comments in the credits provoked me into making for this post. This movie still beats the sh!t out of Red Tails, and at 1/250th of the budget!

They certainly made me chuckle:"are you still here..."

Red Tails is just so incredibly dumb and immature( Pearl Harbour,Flyboys),whereas this is at least aimed at an audience with a bit more intelligence. The story is pretty good and acting ok for a cast of relative unknowns.Effects are pretty good also although annoyingly the UK Blu-ray doesn`t have the 5.1 DTS track which is listed on the packaging.

Overall very enjoyable really and deserving of a higher IMD rating.

Hey folks,

I, too, thought the ending comments were most appropriate. Here was a bunch of guys who told a good story in film in spite of the fact they knew there were some shortcomings in the production qualities. I would be proud to take credit for producing this film even with the shortcomings.

Their comments about the internet were also right on the mark. Thanks to the internet and especially the anonymity afforded by the same, there is a plethora of folks just thrilled to take pot shots at everything.

Best wishes,
Dave Wile
