Full length +1 film vs this short

Does anyone know why there is no credit or even reference among the full length film credits to this film? Director and writer Denis Iliadis of the long film +1 is credited as the original story writer, although the story of his film is exactly the same as this short's (three college friends meeting their doubles etc).

Did full length film +1 rip off this short or something else happened (such as a silent, secret licensing of the story, though this sounds too improbable). Has anyone ever heard of a secret, uncredited licensing before? And why would the original writers agree to that?

This is really interesting. I can't find anything on the short, or it's creators, other than what's here on IMDB. I doubt "+1" was an unauthorized rip-off, however. That'd really be setting them up for a lawsuit. Most likely they paid for the rights to the story. Would be nice to have confirmation of this, however, and know some specifics. Nice find. Hopefully someone will come up with some concrete answers. Interestingly, the lead character and a writer of the short played a character in Chris Carter's "The After" Amazon pilot (which I hope gets picked up, but it's been a while so I'm not holding my breath).

I have never heard of a "silent contract" or "silent license", so I think that Iliadis and co ripped them off. Whenever a new film adapts the story of another one, there is always a credit of the original writer(s), even if that other one is a video game, a comic book or a graphic novel. So, why are the credits absent in this case? Are the writers of of 2013 Plus One seriously going for the "coincidence" explanation, although the similarities are too many and too specific?

It's definitely intriguing. I haven't heard any response from the queries I sent out. I have a feeling this'll be an unsolved mystery for some time to come. I would definitely like to hear the backstory on how this came about though. There's no way it's a coincidence. It's just too on point.

Came here to ask the same, not only the plot, but even the title is similar.

Darn. Was hoping this reply was someone with some answers. Looks like we all just have more questions. Really wish someone involved in either production would divulge some info so we can put this to rest!
