how much detail

Like many novels/dramas that are coming out of Scandanavia at the moment, the Hypnotist is both compulsive and brutal. How much of this brutality in both depiction and language, the four letter 'c' word is used a few times in the book with shocking effect, will we see in the new drama? These sorts of words are not used on TV but really does capture the personalty of Eva. How much can we get away with on a TV drama without diluting the shocks too much?

Kuinka paljon voimme saada pois television draama heikentämättä iskut liikaa?

There's no rating info yet, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The trailer shows some blood, but no foul language.

Well, I saw the movie yesterday. There was definitely blood and violence, it might be hard to watch for some people. It isn't done in that gory way or the American melodramatic way (huge sound effects, blood everywhere), but more "real to life" sort of way (silent and letting your imagination do its thing). I don't remember that much swearing - at least according to subtitles (except in Finnish, but "perkele" is used so much, so it doesn't really have any effect on me anymore).

The film opens with a pretty brutal murder. It's not so much gory as it's unsettling. There are also flashback scenes when the murderer is remembering how he killed his family.

The film left me feeling uneasy, mostly because of who the murderer was and the nature of the killings.

And all the pieces matter (The Wire)

The stabbing murders were some of the most brutal I've ever seen in a film. Had to look away several times.

It was over the top and nasty for the sake of it in my opinion.

It all depends on what films you've seen.
