Am I missing something..? this series was brilliant!

Please excuse me if I sound like an ass in conveying this view.

I consider myself a very big fan/connoisseur of comedy. My opinions are usually shared by other "comedy geeks" and even some pro comedians I've run into.

I find it odd to be of opposing opinion, as in this case, with the IMDB avg review as well as most of the comments on this message board for this show.

I found that this series captured some of the best of sketch or general comedy ever. There are a few misses, but overall, not only is the talent involved great, but the writing, production and material is incredibly good.

I'm guessing that this series did not get the distribution it needed to succeed. But of course, the thrust of the opinions on this board feel otherwise.

Also, I'm a huge fan of tim and eric. Not sure why some would consider this a "tim and eric ripoff" when tim heidecker and eric wareheim are writers (and performers in multiple skits). Nothing in the entire series repeated a tim and eric piece, though the style is recognizable in a few sketches, which is to be expected. There must be some other underlying reason for people to want to hate this show.

Most people just aren't open-minded enough to enjoy an abrasive show like this. A similar case of this happening was with the movie "Movie 43". It got horrendous reviews and averaged out at an abysmal 18 out of 100 on metacritic, yet there was one reviewer that gave it an 88 and called it a near masterpiece- he was the one critic that "got it". Like this show, that movie was a collection of skits with an even higher level of production value: from direction to acting. But it was incredibly crude in a ridiculous over-the-top way, so people were blinded from the intelligence put into the work.
