What the hell was Terry + Trixie doing?

There was a montage and in one of the scenes Terry and Trixie were rubbing knives together...or so it seemed. It looked like they had a glow stick in front of them. Then I think Trixie said something about cramps.

What the hell were they doing? Melting glow sticks and breathing in the smoke?

They were hot-knifing hash. In other words, drugs.

Ok, I guess that makes sense. I've never seen hash in person. What was that thing that was glowing on the table?

Ahhh...hot knives. That brings me back.
Why are all the knife tips burned?
