Played through once with Brick and died a lot. Roland's turret is pure awesomeness. Especially with the aforementioned corrosive add-on.

I know Mordecai is supposed to specialize in sniper rifles and revolvers, but I find myself leaning more toward high powered SMGs and my sword to take down baddies that get too close.
