First of all, the "Elite Squad" is not in the movie. They barely show at all.
I have the
exact same criticism of the first movie.
In the first movie, the Elite Squad
barely does anything. In the first hour, they raid a slum for like 5 minutes, which is paused by a 55 minute flashback digression wherein a bunch of university students, normal police officers, and politicians have boring and redundant conversations with each other.
In the second hour, they show how the Elite Squad runs a boot camp for new recruits, followed by another 5 minute slum raid.
So in short, the first film has the Elite Squad
actually doing Elite Squad business for about 10 minutes of total screen-time.
Having said that, I do not disagree with your quoted statement. My point is that Elite Squad is a poor and misleading title for
both films in this series.
Neither film delivers anything like what its title suggests that it will.
