This BS Title Conveyed Nothing At All!

This post will contain spoilers so if you haven't seen the movie you may not want to read this. . .

Okay, so this movie really pissed me off. "Country Strong?“ more like "Country Weak”. If it was called that then maybe, just maybe I could have seen why it took the direction it did. It’s suppose to be about a country singer who is trying to make a “comeback” and trying to move on from her past. Basically Gwyneth Paltrow’s character cries, drinks, sleeps around, and sings throughout the entire movie. What pissed me off is the ending. I thought about it ending the way it did, but only as a joke! Just when you think the main character, Kelly, has finally recovered from her past experiences with an uplifting ballad called “Coming Home” this ho decides to kill herself because she didn’t believe that “love and fame can live in the same place.” Are you kidding me? What kind of crap is that? What the *beep* is the resolution? Death? Talk about an insult to people with REAL problems. Her death was extremely unnecessary, and it made a complete 180 as far as character development goes. She didn't progress at all! It makes you wonder why the hell this film was even made! It basically left me with the impression that “Yeah, times are hard so you might as well kill yourself because sometimes our ideals of life shouldn’t coexist, but don't forget to choose love.” Wtf? One would assume that a title like "Country Strong" would show a person struggling, however, overcoming, therefore winning in the end, rather than a character who falls apart and kills herself! All in all, I couldn't stand it. Sorry for the rant, but I needed to get that off my chest.

I agree, but I don't know what the title could have been for someone who only wants to go out on top. maybe for her coming home was soem werid idea of heaven.

So you wanted a feel good movie with a happy ending? Well, guess what, in life there aren't always happy endings.

The consensus of the reviewers felt it had too much sadness to overcome. People couldn't empathize because they were beat over the head with so many issues.
