The trailer for this direct-to-video film claims that it is based on Gary Brandner's 1979 novel The Howling II. What a load of rubbish! It has nothing at all in common with The Howling II except that it is a story about werewolves. This is a cheap and dishonest ploy to entice fans of the original books.
shareSaw that at the beginning of the film and actually got somewhat interested, because I had the book as a kid and read it after reading The Howling.
Then I watched in disbelief as the film proceeded to have absolutely no similarities to the book Howling 2 in any way, shape, or form ... and it sucked while doing it.
What a disappointment.
To me, it's very, very, very and I mean very loosely inspired by the third novel, in that it focuses on a teenage werewolf being pursued by a pack of werewolves.
