Not a bad movie at all. My quick review:

Having seen a majority of the Howling movies and several horror movies in general, I can honestly say this movie wasn't bad. It did lack vision as well as the necessary drive to be a really good movie, but it wasn't a wreck and the director did an "adequate" (lol line from the movie) job at giving us a decent Howling sequel that wasn't bad on the eyes.

If you've seen the Howling sequels, you are aware of how bad they can get. You also know the messy and unpleasant look they can have. The Howling Reborn does a pretty decent job at bringing the series to a more contemporary film style that I personally didn't mind. For a low budget film, the sets, locations, and creature designs turned out a lot nicer than they could have.

The werewolves are now split into two groups. There is an alpha bloodline as well as a henchmen bloodline. Alphas have an updated look loyal to the original, except with a more naked torso and limbs. Henchmen look more like Gargoyles...as in the Disney cartoon: humanoid with big pointy ears and a small mane. The significance of the two is really up to your own perception unless they decide to make another sequel.

As far as stories go, this one had a very generic and ultimately straight-forward plot. Maybe one or two more drafts may have been just right. The acting was generic as well. I really feel that if the villains and main characters had had just a LITTTTLE more depth...we would have had a really awesome movie.

To sum this up: although the story and acting were on the bland and generic side, the safely allocated budget on the design made this a nice watch; especially near Halloween. While strong directing and a strong vision would have made The Howling Reborn great, I am much happier enjoying this sequel (which I consider one of the series's better sequels) than something like New Moon Rising or Your Sister is a Werewolf
