Chris Weitz has paid tribute to his Mexican heritage (his Grandmother is famed actress Lupita Tovar) with this beautiful film. the moving performances by the two lead actors kept me emotionally captive thru the entire film.

I agree, it was a beautiful and moving film and the two leads created a wonderful and believable relationship.

I was so glad when the son turned his back on the gang and learned to respect his dad for his gentleness, humanity and decency.

Thank you for this. Because of the positive reviews on this site, I rented it. I am so glad I did. Good film. Thought provoking. Some good acting; the dad's tearful scene is notable.

I am thinking that our country has to put a lot more thought into our Mexican/Latin American immigration situation some serious thought.
