I don't understand why Mexicans have not fought for their country.

Look at most of the world but particularly the French Revolution for example. People got tired of being stepped on and they rose up and fought for their rights and made the country theirs.

This happened in America with the Civil War and most European countries, South America and Australia. People did not like how they were treated and instead of running away they stayed and made these countries what they are today.

I feel the same way about Middle Eastern refugees, yes, things are awful where you are from and you need to protect your families but if you are a man of fighting age and you run instead of standing your ground and taking back the control, things will never get better and other countries may not throw you out but you will be looked upon as cowards.

Good point. As things stand there is no end in sight to Mexicans trying to cross the border into our country. This will always be until people make a concerted effort to fix things in Mexico.

Never fought for their country? Have you never heard of Benito Juarez, who led the fight against the foreign emperor Maximilian in the 1860s? Have you not heard of the Mexican Revolution, carried on in the early part of the 20th century. Of Pancho Villa and Zapata?

Whether all of that made Mexico a great country is problematic. Kind of like now, in the U.S., with Trump greasing the skids of despotism to lead this country down into banana republic status, except for all those pesky nuclear weapons seeking places to use them.
