Going to buy the book ....

...before I see the film. Anyone read it? No spoilers please!!!

I read the book shortly after Simon announced he was making the movie. The author really draws you into the story, describing the smells and obscure sounds of each new scene while keeping you anxious to find out what happens next. It's so easy to picture Simon as Sando, especially if you've seen clips of his highly skilled surfing. I finished the book in about two days - once I got into it everything else was just pushed aside. I subsequently bought the kindle version of a book of Tim Winton's short stories which were just as compelling. I highly recommend the book Breath to anyone, not just fans of Simon Baker.

Hopefully, this film will be picked up for wide distribution in the US. I Give it a Year had limited release here and none of the few theaters were near me so I had to wait for the DVD to see the film. This one should be seen on the big screen because of the surfing scenes and the beautiful scenery (and the gorgeous Simon).

Hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!

Thank you, your reply inspired me to get into gear and I just ordered the book. I must admit that I only got here as I was looking to see what Simon Baker was up to now ... Looking forward to reading it!

Thanks for the write up on the book. I was also debating on buying it or not since I loved the move and was wondering if it gets deeper and more detailed in the book. I'm a surfer and grew up and started surfing around the same time so this film really hit a chord with me.
