Did King seal this show's fate? *spoilers*

I for one really enjoyed the first season. The 2nd was a mixed bag and the third didn't so much jump the shark as take a huge figurative dump on it.

Here's the thing. I noticed that King wrote the s2 opener, therefore killing off Linda and Angie. Was he on drugs again!?

Not only that, but the 3 new main characters in s2 were uninteresting sociopaths. At least Jim was an interesting anti-hero. What happened in restoring the balance? All was an uphill battle since s2, ep1. The most interesting plot after that was the Zenith one, but then that elderly woman from 'Tommyknockers shows up in s3 and all we're missing are early 90's green sfx.

Well Angie gets killed in the book so I wasn't surprised but Linda didn't.

No, King wasn't on drugs again, I (and a lot of fans of the book) believe that was his way of letting his fans (and the makers of this godawful piece of TV trash) know how he felt about this atrocious adaptation of his novel. The two characters he killed were either not in his book, and created just for the show (Linda), or was killed off at the very beginning of his book and not even featured in the overall story (Angie).
Do yourself a favor and read the book and try to forget this garbage even exists. You'll be thankful that you did.

I started reading the book, but it seemed like King in overwriting mode again. What works on the page may not work so well on screen, or vice versa; Linda was a good character.

King may have written the episode, but the content was chosen by the showrunner, with the other writers contributing to the overall story.
